Birdhouse Quilts is the Gammill Dealer for Georgia and South Carolina and is owned by Jessie and Tracy Reynolds.

When the Reynolds were shopping for a longarm more than 10 years ago, Tracy said they continuously found that customers rated the Gammill as a top-quality machine that would last many years. They were impressed by the positive customer satisfaction feedback and that each Gammill, regardless of size, was a commercial-grade product. They purchased a Statler by Gammill.

“The reviews were spot on,” she said. “Our Statler has been a workhorse and problem-free. We truly believe in Gammill machines and the customer service the company provides. We are looking forward to being a part of this great service.”

The history of Birdhouse Quilts

Tracy completed her first quilt more than 25 years ago. She was soon busy raising her two sons but took up quilting again about 15 years ago.

“I love the whole quilt-making process,” she said. “From picking colors to completing the last stitch on the quilt label.”

Tracy loved quilting so much that she decided to open her own shop, Birdhouse Quilts, in January 2016.

“I love teaching and sharing my quilt knowledge with others. Plus, I’m always learning new things from my students,” she said.

Her husband, Jessie, a woodworker, was inspired by the quilters who came into the shop. He made several quilt blocks out of wood and entered two into the Georgia National Fair, receiving ribbons for both. Jessie said he then became a “fair weather” woodworker and was looking for a hobby he could do even during inclement weather.

He decided he would rather work with fabric than wood and signed up for Birdhouse Quilt’s Quilting 201 class. He completed his quilt, “Highly Scrutinized,” entered it in the Georgia National Fair and received a Blue Ribbon.

Tracy and Jessie’s passion for quilting has continually grown since they opened their shop two years ago. Numerous customers have brought their old ragged quilts in that their great grandmothers made many years before.

“You can see in their expression how much they love and cherish their quilts,” Tracy said. “It makes you realize how much comfort and warmth quilts bring to families from generation to generation. Who doesn’t want to be a part of making family heirlooms?”
